IN AND AROUND WINDERMERE

Windermere is centrally placed and  ideal for a holiday in the Lake District National Park.  The 10 miles of water is easily accessible for lake shore and water based activities.

 

Just 10 minutes walk from the lodge is the Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole which features an adventure playground, visitor centre, cafe, picnic tables and nature trails.

Elegant steamers can carry you the entire length of the Lake from Ambleside via Bowness on Windermere to the steam trains and the aquarium of Lakeside.

An uplifting experience rewards those who walk to the spectacular viewing points at Gummers Howe, Orrest Head, Claiffe Heights, Loughrigg or Wansfell.  For outdoor enthusiasts, who enjoy more than water sports and walking, golf and pony trekking are available.
